A couple of pictures for todays challenge. Something I do everyday, no matter how busy I am …………….

Each and everyday I always ensure that I make time to play with J. I love the time that we spend together, creating block mountains, wooden men, mario worlds, smiles and happy memories.

I think it’s too easy in todays world to allow a computer or games console to entertain our children and although J spends time on one or the other every day we restrict his time on his computer games. It’s important to us that he understands that he can have fun with other toys and with real people and that he knows Mum and Dad can still be fun sometimes.

There were so many possibilities for todays #FMSphotoaday challenge. I have way too many favourite things! ;)

One of my favourite things to do is to take photographs, I love documenting things, events etc with photographs and creating memory books/files with them. Another favourite thing is travelling, I don’t actually enjoy travelling but I love visiting and discovering new places.

When in Australia we visited one of my favourite places in the world and took one of my favourte photographs.

Hands Up all those parents that are NOT fans of daylight saving…………..*frantically waves both hands in the air*

Here’s why I’m not a fan ……………… 5am!  J has been having night terrors and waking even more than usual through the night for the past 2 months. Strangely they started just after the summer holidays ……………right at the start of the new school year…………..coincidence? maybe or maybe it’s school that’s causing them. Whatever the reason he’s been up crying, shouting, hitting out, trying to pull something off him, saying “get off” “I don’t like it” and a whole host of random words that we can’t even begin to paste together. He doesn’t always wake up completely and actually often looks like he’s “in the nightmare” when I go in to him. We try to calm him down and settle him back off to sleep but a few times he’s been so involved in the nightmare/terror that we’ve had to wake him before settling him.

Despite the night terrors we’ve managed to get J into a routine wake up time each morning. Each and every morning he’s been getting up between 6am and 6.30am, which as alot of parents will agree is great and almost feels like a lie in. However, daylight saving happened! Last week we put the clocks back an hour and so J put his morning wake up call back an hour too. *sigh* For the last week J has been getting up between 5am and 5.30am. Combined with the night terrors and the chesty cold I have at the moment it all means I’m not getting a great deal of sleep.

So anyway back to topic #FMSphotoaday challenge. I took this at 5 o’Clock this morning, it was dark, cold and I was very tired………………

(Not the best photo, I know but hey I was tired!) LOL

Ok, so I know it’s a photo of an IPad screen but without this helpful little television screen car journeys (like the one we made today) would be a whole lot longer. ;)

So as a way of getting back into blogging I thought I’d have another go at Fat Mum Slim’s photo a day challenge.

To begin the challenge, today’s photo a day challenge is Something Beginning With ‘C’…………….

J has developed abit of a fascination with castles recently thanks to a certain computer game character that goes by the name of Bowser. So we’ve had a couple of days out recently visiting  a few different castles. We’ve had great fun together walking around some of England’s great history. J has loved climbing to the top of the castle walls and towers and has taken in alot of facts about each castle that we’ve visited.

As well as learning abit of history, visiting the castles have been fun family days out, that I’d recommend to anyone. :)
