Ok so I know this is a day late but better late than never eh?

This was taken a little while ago but I’m posting it because I didn’t take any pictures yesterday, it’s been one of those weeks and yesterday was soooo tiring.  This was spotted washed up on one of our local beaches, J loved it and wanted to bring it home with us but it’s eyes kinda freaked me out.

What do you think…… freaky fish right?

After a little thinking I’ve decided each month to have a theme of some sort for my 365 project. For the month of February I’ve decided to use the theme Nature.

Can you see the bird?

Meet Billy Bones!

J has been fascinated by the human body for about 2 years now and has various books explaining what each organ is, where it is in the body and what it does and so on. A few months ago he started collecting Billy Bones. Each week he gets another body piece and a booklet with various facts in, (J loves his fact books). J is always looking at Billy and then trying to work out where on his body are the bones and organs that Billy has. It’s proving to be quite expensive but he is learning something as he collects each piece/issue. I guess, long-term he’ll may be able to help J when/if he studies Human Biology and of course J loves him!

One week on from the dreadful flood and the local harbour is still overflowing with boats.

Today I woke up really early, 3:15am early and I wasn’t even woken up by J!  No last night/this morning it was the pain in my back and my leg that woke me up. So whilst I’m very tired today, waking up so early gave me the opportunity to have some quiet, me time to think. I lost a good amount of weight just before Christmas but over the last couple of weeks I seem to have gotten sidetracked, well I have been very busy trying to convince J that school can be fun, (not is fun because I’d be lying, it was hell for me – another post I think) and ofcourse we’ve had al the dramas with the floods.

Today I’ve made a start at getting back on track. Hubby took me to the local shop, (it wasn’t much fun trying to get in the car with a leg I can’t bend or raise!), to stock up with fruit and veg etc…… you know all the healthy stuff! WOW! I couldn’t believe how little choice there was and how much they cost. The price of fruit and veg has sky rocketed here over the last week and it now ridiculously expensive to buy fruit and vegetables. Nevertheless I did get some fruit but ended up buying frozen veg, as it was cheaper and will last longer.

Once the leg feels better and I’m able to bend it, lift it and so on I’m planning on going to the gym and I’m going to be going swimming on a regular basis with friends. Obviously all this is also going to cost money so right now I’m trying to add up the cost of healthy living.

Of course I may also go for long walks too………… because they’re free! :)

Over the last few weeks I’ve been trying to find new ways of developing and practising J’s fine motor, social and creative skills and his imagination whilst working on some of his other issues, such as being messy.  I’ve had alot of help from the Super Mario Bros!

We’ve made some Super Mario Puppets! I printed some pictures for J to colour, with pencil crayons of course, (not messy), then we cut them out and stuck each character to a lolly stick, with a glue stick, (again not messy).   J then spent around an hour playing with his new puppets before asking if he could do a puppet show for me!

I was very impressed with the puppet show, it only lasted about 5 minutes and most of the time the puppets were hidden behind the chair, but J felt very proud of himself so I think job well done!

Well done my clever little man, Mummy’s very proud :) xxx

Since about the age of 2 J has loved Lego, he’s always loved building things with the blocks and I’ve always encouraged his love of Lego because it helps to develop so many different skills.  Over the last few months J obsession with Mario has grown and so it was only a matter of time before the 2 met. As you can see from the picture it’s not actually Mario that he loves it’s the “baddies” :)

I love taking photographs, they’re a great way of capturing a memory. Something that I love doing with J is looking back through old photographs and explaining the story behind some of them.

J has his own camera, it’s a Vtech Kidizoom one. I have to say it’s fab! He finds it very easy to use, loves the games that are also on it and it’s also proven itself to be quite robust, J has dropped it several times and no damage has occurred :)

Today whilst I was snapping away as usual J asked if he could have a go with my camera. I hesitated at first, he can be quite clumsy and my camera isn’t as robust as his but I handed it over to him ensuring the strap was securely around his wrist.  We quite often get photos of half a person or a blurry picture of his toys when he has taken them with his camera, along with a few good ones of course.  When he had finished taking pictures we sat at he computer together to view the pictures that he’d taken.  I was really surprised at just how good some of the photos were!

Here’s a few

And he even managed to take one of me!

I’m thinking maybe I have a very talented young photographer here :)

I’ve seen alot of other blogs taking part in this and since I love taking photos I thought it would be a fun thing to take part in. The idea basically is to take a photo everyday and post it on your blog. Sounds easy but I’m a little late starting because I wasn’t sure if I could take part………. I take photos almost everyday but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to commit to posting on my blog everyday, but I’m going to give it a try :)

So without further ado here’s my first 5 photos :)

1/365    ”If the ducks don’t eat it, can I?”

2/365    Cooling off!

3/365     Finally the rain stopped for more than a day! It’s been very hot but very, very wet here for the past few weeks :(

4/365     “Mum are you sure it’s dry enough to cut?”

5/365      It’s very cloudy out today and there are more storms due later so we thought we’d go outside for a play. Sorry to the neighbours, we were a little noisy at 7am this morning but we were having soooo much fun :)
