Our Perfect Day
Feeling the sand crunching under our feet
Waiting for the ocean and our skin to meet
And falling into the waves admitting defeat
Watching, listening as the ocean hits the sand with a crash
Screaming with laughter as the waves hit us with a splash
And feeling the cold as skin and water clash
I look around to see a truly beautiful sight
My little man playing so happy and bright
The laughter so loud as he squeals with delight
The laughter and the screaming is a wonderful mixture
His face so alive, such a beautiful picture
Such an amazing memory to become a permanent fixture

Awww that sounds wonderful! Zack loves the beach, but Max, well, he refuses point blank to walk barefoot along the sand… I guess it’s maybe too much for him, the feel of the sand, the smell of the sea, all the sights and sounds of others playing and splashing… one day I hope he’ll enjoy it more.

The beach is one of J’s favourite places, (he loves Australia Zoo too), He’s abit cautious near the water but hopefully the swimming lessons will help with that. I think he likes it there so much because there’s never many people there and we just play so I think he feels he can just be himself……….. it doesn’t matter if he randomly screams, there isn’t anyone there to care about the noise and there isn’t too many confusing noises, smells etc and there aren’t lots of people who might try to talk to him or accidently brush past him.
As for Max, well when we first arrived back in Oz 6 months ago J wouldn’t walk barefoot on the beach either, we started with surf shoes, then crocs, then flip flops until eventually he took them off whilst playing and then simply didn’t put them back on. Have you tried that? xx
